A Message from Rev. Msgr. Herbert K. Tillyer,
our Pastor Emeritus
Dear Friends,
As I move from Saint Peter the Apostle Church to Merry Heart Assisted Living in Succasunna this week, my new residence, God willing, I thank you for the loving prayers and kind thoughts that you have been offering for me since I retired in June 2019.
My medical condition has become more active with ongoing chemotherapy, heart circumstances, a recurring abdominal hernia and walking difficulty. Living here now and into the future would be a continuing undue burden on the parish. Merry Heart Assisted Living is well prepared to take care of people in my situation. I look forward to becoming a member of their community.
I hope to become more focused on people who ask me to pray for them and their intentions. Please do not hesitate to ask me to pray for you.
The last few years have been a season of the unanticipated difficult pandemic. This parish has been weathering the strong storm with my good friend, Fr. David, our pastor, and his parish staff carefully guiding the ship. Please pray for them and for the parish and our parish school, All Saints Academy, when you turn to our Lord Jesus and to Mary, our Mother. All is in His hands and His Mother prays for us every day. We offer him our prayers, works, joys, and sufferings as we try to be his faithful disciples.
Again, thank you so much. Let’s all just keep praying for each other. God love you.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Herb

Q: As a FaithDirect participant, must I re-enter my payment and donation information again? A: Yes. Although Saint Peter’s designed the WeShare giving templates to mirror FaithDirect where possible, WeShare is an entirely different platform that does not permit the carryover of this data.
Please take time to consider your legacy – and the legacy of our Catholic faith.
God has blessed and entrusted each of us with many gifts. As His faithful stewards, we are all called to cherish and share these gifts with others and to return them with increase to the Lord.
Every parishioner has an opportunity to express their love of God and return to Him a measure of the blessings He has bestowed. As stewards of God’s gifts, we are each called to reflect upon our final act of stewardship before returning home to the Lord.
We ask that you prayerfully consider making a legacy gift to our Church that strengthens our parish for future generations or as we say, “pay it forward by giving back.”
We are pleased to offer a Q&A in our Parish website to help you in the planning process. Please call Fr. David at Rectory Office, 973-334-2090, with any questions you may have regarding a current or legacy gift. Click here for more info
